Host a Freenet6 POP

Become a Network Partner

We are looking for new POPs! The Freenet6 Federation is oversubscribed and running at maximum capacity.  To provide a reliable free service we need to expand the network. If you're interested in helping thousands of networking professionals on their way to IPv6 please send us an email at: info@gogo6.com or drop us a comment below.

Hosting Requirements:

  • 1U of rack space for the gogoSERVER or alternatively we can run on a VMware server.
  • 2 x gigabit Ethernet connections, one being v4 and one v6 (native only). Alternatively 1 gigabit dualstack and one 100Mb/s for back end traffic.
  • Console access and power control is a nice to have but not a must.
  • 4 IPv4 addresses and at least a /40 IPv6. Everything has to be statically routed to the server.

IPv6 traffic will be between 100 - 200Mb/s for each server.

Advantages and Benefits:

  • Test your network with IPv6 traffic.
  • Be part of a worldwide network advancing IPv6.
  • Build credibility by contributing to the international IPv6 community.
  • Help your country's IPv6 community by providing faster IPv6 connectivity.
  • Get visibility for your company/organization by being listed on our partners page and your country listed in the gogoCLIENT.
  • Develop credibility for your IPv6 business.
  • Requires minimal to no admin effort.

I am willing to work on setting up a freenet6 pop in Manitoba.  I might have to make a business case proposal, though.  Feel free to contact me on this.

It would be awesome to see a POP in the US.  I attempted to contact the data center in my area (Dayton) but it seems that the contact page doesn't seem to work properly.

Seems odd that a business that has the Government and various  ISPs using it that they would all be completely reluctant to mount a server or even a vm for that matter.

Oh well, nobody wants to be liable for anything anymore.

Hi Bruce,

Can you share me your email id so that we can discuss little bit more about this.

I have some more questions.

Gaurav, all efforts in the Freenet6 Federation are best effort - there are no liabilities.  We have updated the page with more details around hosting.

Hi Team,

Can you explain little bit more what all we have to do for hosting a Freenet6 POP and what all will be our liabilities?
