I tried it on my Samsung gnex which has builtin TUN funtionality (ICS 4.0.4). Unfortunately gogoDroid seems to not recognize it.

My efforts in installing a tun.ko module were worthless because there is no module for my Build..

Dirk Groß sent this message to all members of Mobile IPv6 on gogoNET:

Anyone tested GogoDroid yet?
Does it work?
Can it be trusted?

Unfortunately it does not yet work on my phone, I got to flash a custom ROM with TUN support. Maybe you have more luck and already have TUN build in.

There is a discussion on this at

At the Google IPv6 implementors conference this month, Verizon, T-Mobile, NSN and Ericsson talked about their mobile IPv6 transition plans.

Ericsson highlighted application access tests using IPv6-only hosts to reach popular web apps (like Facebook, Skype, on-line games, etc.) and finding out what breaks and why.

A white paper on v4/v6 coexistence protocols for mobile handsets/terminals was posted by gogo6 earlier this year, more at:

Dear Ahmed,

The main goal for mobile IPv6 is not closed to cellular phones but the management of the mobility in general (computers, laptops, notebook ...) and also networks !
Neverthless it's OK for the photo

Looking at the 3gv6 discussions on implementing IPv6 in 3G and LTE networks, the impression I get is that the needed IPv6 standardization for mobility and IMS is not ready yet. Does any one share this opinion ?

Also, little attention given on how v4 and v6 will exist on mobile platforms as content will be v4 based for many years to come.

LTE will start to be deployed/trialed by year end, and commercially by 2012, and it will be all-IP (no circuit switched voice). Thus expect more demand on IPv4 , if any is left by then !
