to henk, yes i could if i owned the connection , but i dont the landlord does and he doesnt feel like contacting telenet :x

Tina, you can request another modem from Telenet if you can prove you have problems with your connections. Then you get the ‘business’ model without the NAT. Just call them and be persistent that you can’t do you work with this type of modem. I worked for me…

thx guys for this service as i'm not happy with telenet isp who changed modem with modem/router , which uses NAT , the upd hole thingie is a nice workaround for this now i can ssh again and reach my gentoo binpkg server again :D

Thanks for the info Eric. Compbell doesn't have any IPv6 info on their site (using search to find it). I suppose it's still in "beta" then :-)

Compbell is assumed to have hosting in Belgium and runs IPv6 AFAIK

Eric, would you care to tell me what hoster that is, that enabled IPv6 in Belgium?
I know that FUSA.BE is offering IPv6 addresses on their dedicated servers and VPSes, but they are using a datacenter in the Netherlands (NedZone).

I agree about internet connections being expensive in Belgium.

The problem is the end user service. If you are uncomfortable about managing your own LAN and modem, you have to become a customer with either Belgacom or Telenet. Also, for the alternative ADSL providers, the fora are filled with horror stories about Belgacom and the ISP looking at each other when a problem occurs.

I think Dommel offers a fair deal, but like everybody else, they depend on Belgacom for the end user connection.

Unless glass fiber is allot cheaper than I think, general Fiber to the Home isn't going to happen anywhere soon. In Belgium or abroad.

I think the only way to get gigabit internet without data limits is to start a cooperative (CVBA-SCRL) ISP and lay the fiber yourself. I'm afraid that won't change the "internet connection is expensive" problem.

Our internet is expensive, not that fast comparing to other countries,I think there are just one or two providers that offer no-limit contracts and they're still "just planning" the us of glass-fibre cables...

Would be more interesting to talk about address family translation in this group, wouldn't it?

Especially, when little to no Belgian SP has a firm plan to add IPv6 before 2012 :-(

At least, there is one Belgian hoster who enabled IPv6 a couple of weeks ago.

And for the French speaking part, www.rtbf.be is IPv6 enabled (thanks to their hoster: infomaniak.ch)
