Steve Bertrand left a comment for JF Tremblay
"Hi JF, Although I've got a few of our largest multi-site clients set up with /48s being advertised back to our edge gear, they are not using it in production...yet. We do sell wholesale ADSL, however, we do have numerous SDSL clients that…"

JF Tremblay replied to Nicolas Filion's discussion 'IPv6 prefix to end users'
"I mostly agree with Steve here, but /48 is a bit large for home users. My understanding of the industry consensus was that businesses would be assigned a /48 and home users will get a /56. 256 links should be enough not to limit creative network…"

JF Tremblay commented on Nicolas Filion's blog post 'IPv6 won't save us in time'
"I agree with Mikael here. IPv6 remains the long term solution. DS-Lite will be there for a while to provide legacy IPv4 access in the period where v4 address consumption remains growing or stable. The big challenge is providing the customer with a…"

JF Tremblay commented on Ivan Pepelnjak's blog post 'IPv6 is not ready for residential use'
"Answering Nicolas' post, it's true the residential gateway is a key missing component of any provider deployment. Vendors are starting to move in the right direction (Apple, D-Link, hopefully Cisco soon). At least they now have some…"

"In agreement with Jeremy's comment, 2^64 is more like it... Also, to give an idea of scale, I used to say that an ISP, with a /32, gets roughly the size of the current Internet. Counting in addresses is soooo 2008... counting subnets is the way…"

Hi JF,

Although I've got a few of our largest multi-site clients set up with /48s being advertised back to our edge gear, they are not using it in production...yet.

We do sell wholesale ADSL, however, we do have numerous SDSL clients that terminate in a couple of our PoPs, a fair amount of dial-up, but my primary focus lately has been our fibre-connected clients.
