Mobile and Cellular networks have some special considerations for IPv6. This is partly due to the fact that there are some extra standards and requirements from different 3G and 4G standardization bodies. John Loughneyهis currently a senior product manager in Nokia. Previously, John was a Principle Engineer at the Nokia Research Center in Helsinki, Finland. He has a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Computer Science. John was the chair for the the Next Steps in Signaling (NSIS) working group and the Authorization, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) working groups in the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). He serves on the Technical Directorate of the IPv6 Forum.

He is the author or co-author of a number of RFCs including: RFC 3316 "Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) for Some Second and Third Generation Cellular Hosts", RFC 3588 - "Diameter Base Protocol " and the editor for the "IPv6 Node Requirements," among others.ه He is involved\ with multi-access, multi-homing and mobility research at the Nokia Research Center.
