Mikael Lind replied to Harry Smith's discussion 'What has changed?'
"I'm not sure if you can get the machine to route based on source but if you can then you should be able to keep both tunnels running. "

Mikael Lind replied to Harry Smith's discussion 'What has changed?'
"There is one thing that has changed actually that might be an issue in your case. A few days ago we started more strictly filtering tunnels and only allowing traffic from matching tunnel prefix and v4 source. This shouldn't be an issue for…"

Mikael Lind replied to Jianqi Qu's discussion 'Freenet6 Sydney dslite not working properly, probably due to misconfigured NAT?'
"Haven't been able to test it myself so I don't know if it works or not but everything looks ok on the server so I'm not sure why it won't go through. Nothing has changed since the initial conf so I don't see why it suddenly…"

Mikael Lind replied to James Knott's discussion 'gogoNET server IPv6 problem?'
"Now when I checked I noticed that I was connecting using IPv4 as well but when looking in the proxy that makes gogoNET IPv6 I could see traffic going on v6 so I don't think there is any issue. Could have been temporary unavailable making the…"

Ahmed Abu-Abed replied to Mikael Lind's discussion 'Comcast expands IPv6 trial'
"Comcast have pioneered IPv6 deployemnt starting 7 years ago and reached customers with dual-stack over their own network. Other operators may find it hard to catch up if they start late and/or if they do not own the access network. In this case a…"

Mikael Lind replied to Darko Hojnik's discussion 'some protocols filtered?'
"No nothing has changed. I some cases people run into issues with the dns having a v4 entry of the tunnel server (used for the home access feature) so make sure you connect using IPv6."

Comcast expands IPv6 trial

Mikael Lind replied to Pooneh Kashi's discussion 'Multicast'
"As far as I know there is no easy way of doing multicast from v4 to v6. You would need to setup a custom translation to create a v6 source out of the v4 source otherwise the v6 client wouldn't be able to request it."

Mikael Lind replied to ivan kovachev's discussion 'Protect traffic with IPsec'
"You can not setup a IPSec tunnel to the gogoSERVER but it wouldn't help you the scenario describe in any case. What you need to do is to make sure you have a firewall on your local machine that handles IPv6. If you terminate the tunnel on…"

My Presentation at gogoNET LIVE! 2

Client and server products for a trial and beyond
My presentations will cover gogo6 products for doing a trial today, both the network part of it as well as the solution for getting IPv6 into the home. It will also cover the evolution from a trial into early IPv6 production in an IPv4 scarce world and beyond.

My presentations at gogoNET Live!

Home CPEs

The equipment in the home is going to play an important role in the roll out of IPv6 and how it can be used. Home routers and modems are today mostly IPv4 only which limits the possibilities to add IPv6 even if an operator wanted to. There are exceptions and functions that can help the deployment and that is what I will cover in the presentation.

Google is now IPv6 on Freenet6

After some tweaking together with Google to make sure access is good we have now enabled native IPv6 access to the Google services for Freenet6 Tunnel users. This means that you can access www.google.com and most other Google services using IPv6 when you are connected using Freenet6. This is different than ipv6.google.com which only gives IPv6 access to search but nothing else and requires you to use a different domain name.

Freenet6 Sydney now online

We have now brought the gogoSERVER in Sydney online. Many thanks to the people at IPv6Now for all the help getting it up and running. If you want to connect directly to Sydney it is sydney.freenet6.net for registered users. All users who use anonymous.freenet6.net (which is default) or authenticated.freenet6.net will automatically be redirected to Sydney next time they connect if that is the closest server available.

In the process of setting up the system we ran into some IPv6 routing… Continue

NAT-PT is dead, let the translation race begin

In 2007 the IETF deprecated the NAT-PT translation solution (RFC4966) because translation was considered harmful. Less than two years later translation it is back in the IETF and back with force. During the 75th IETF meeting in Stockholm this week translation was one of the big topics and one of the topics with a great sense of urgency. The replacement for NAT-PT is now called NAT64 and offers a translation between IPv6 and IPv4 in much of the same ways as NAT-PT. There are of course… Continue
